WHAT IF THERE WAS NO WAR is a short fictional Story of a young Man that is confronted by the barbarity of war. As Water, Friends and Hope are disappearing he gets thrown into the brutal nightmare that victims of war have to live through every day. He then decides to change the way he approached life and appreciate what he is given. The Idea of "What if there was no war" has been in my head for a long time. Through the recent War in Ukrain it felt unavoidable to finally start producing. The main Goal of this Film is to create Awareness for war. Most people in countries that are in peace dont know war, me included. We fight over small social Problems and spend a lot of time spredding anger and frustration. Instead we could appreciate that we are able to live a life without war and help those that are not. To create Peace we need Unity and to create Unity we need Awareness and love. Beyond the Tick is an experimental makeup & dance film that journeys through the transformation of a woman’s spirit as she battles to escape the confines of her mundane office routine. Set in a world that feels both familiar and oppressively dull, the film uses striking choreography and inventive makeup to visualize an inner rebellion against conformity. Inspired by the rapid visual storytelling of TikTok and aiming to answer, "What if TikToks were shot by filmmakers?" the high-energy, quick-transition style of social media videos, Beyond the Tick elevates this concept with professional filmmaking, turning a rapid digital aesthetic into a cinematic, immersive experience. The story unfolds through an expressive combination of contemporary dance and evolving makeup styles that signal the protagonist’s emotional journey. At her desk, she starts as a lifeless figure with a pale face, symbolizing the draining effects of her repetitive, corporate life. But as her spirit stirs, her body begins to move involuntarily, and her makeup subtly shifts, reflecting her deep-seated desire for change. With each movement, she gains more control, breaking free from the unseen forces holding her back. As her rebellion grows, her makeup takes on new vibrancy: flushed cheeks, bold lipstick changes, and, finally, intricate designs that almost resemble a tattoo, as if her true self is emerging from within. Unlike traditional films, where makeup merely enhances the character, Beyond the Tick uses makeup as a powerful storytelling tool, with each shift symbolizing her emotional and psychological journey. She sheds her corporate shell, and her final dance is raw and liberating—a sensual, spirited display of freedom and self-expression. Beyond the Tick is not just a dance film; it’s a visual metamorphosis that merges fashion, makeup, and the art of movement to portray a universal struggle for individuality within an impersonal world.
